BS Asahi Announces End of BS4K Broadcast

BS Asahi announced it will end its "BS Asahi 4K" broadcasts, with the end date undecided.

The move follows other commercial BS stations that have ended or considered ending BS4K services.

BS Asahi cited the growth of internet distribution and smart device use as factors making the business environment tougher.

BS Asahi's 4K programs will be offered free on WOWOW On Demand from autumn under a joint framework.
