US firm to deliver defense system to NATO member to defeat tactical ballistic, cruise missiles

Raytheon will supply the Netherlands with Patriot defense system equipment.

The direct commercial sales contract includes radars, launchers, and command-and-control stations.

Patriot is the air-defense foundation for 19 countries, including nine European nations.

It has been used in more than 250 combat engagements and has intercepted over 150 ballistic missiles since January 2015.

More than 90 of those intercepts involved Raytheon’s Guidance Enhanced Missile family, and production is being accelerated.
