Apple Sued by Customers Who Lost Combined $1.8 Million Through Fake Bitcoin Wallet in App Store

Three customers sued Apple in California federal court after claiming a fake Sparrow Wallet app on the App Store stole $1.8 million in Bitcoin from them.

The complaint says Apple failed to adequately screen and remove scam apps, despite promoting the App Store as a safe place to download software.

The plaintiffs—James Ramirez, Christopher Ellis, and Jalen Delgado—say Apple’s actions misled consumers and enabled the theft.

The case could test Apple’s legal exposure for fraud-related apps distributed through its marketplace and challenge its safety claims.
