Apple’s AirPods with cameras for AI are apparently close to production

Bloomberg says Apple’s rumored camera-equipped AirPods have reached design validation testing and could enter early mass production soon.

The earbuds are expected to use low-resolution visual sensing for AI queries and directions, not for taking photos.

Apple is reportedly holding the launch until Siri gets better, with a possible debut around September 2026.

If released, the product could expand Apple’s AI hardware lineup and compete with Meta’s smart glasses.
