Samsung achieves 'Fainting Prediction' on Galaxy Watch, will expand preventative features

Samsung said a Galaxy Watch 6 study with a Korean hospital could predict fainting episodes up to five minutes ahead using a PPG-based AI model.

The system reported 84.6% accuracy and 90% sensitivity in detecting vasovagal syncope risk before an episode.

The result highlights wearables shifting from tracking health data to providing early warnings that may help prevent injuries and speed care.

Samsung said it will keep expanding preventative health features on future Galaxy watches, including functions like blood pressure monitoring.
