Angel Robotics' Angel Legs M20 walking rehabilitation robot expands health insurance coverage

The Ministry of Health and Welfare revised selective coverage rules for robotic orthotic exercise devices, broadening insurance support for gait training.

Coverage now extends beyond stroke patients within six months of onset to children and adolescents 18 and under with cerebral palsy or other central nervous system disorders.

This could expand the use of Angel Robotics’ wearable gait rehabilitation robot, Angel Legs M20.

The change should reduce cost and access barriers for pediatric rehabilitation and further bring robot-assisted therapy into mainstream care.
