Nintendo Announces Surprise Remake Of Star Fox 64 For Switch 2 And It Looks Fine

Nintendo unexpectedly unveiled a Switch 2-exclusive remake of Star Fox 64 during a surprise Star Fox Direct.

The remake updates the classic on-rails shooter with new graphics, extra mission briefings and cutscenes, mouse support, Game Chat avatars, N64 controller support, new challenges, and returning PvP modes.

It is set to launch on June 25, 2026; Japanese pricing points to about $40 digitally and $50 physically in the U.S., though Nintendo has not confirmed U.S. pricing.

The reveal revives a major Nintendo franchise for Switch 2 and adds another nostalgia-focused exclusive that also showcases new hardware features.
