Nvidia quietly launches 12GB RTX 5070 laptop GPU — midrange mobile gaming gets more VRAM amid the RAMpocalypse

Nvidia quietly added a 12GB RTX 5070 laptop GPU in GeForce driver 596.36.

It appears to keep the same 128-bit memory interface and similar performance to the 8GB model, with the main upgrade being 50% more VRAM.

The new variant sits between the 8GB RTX 5070 and 12GB RTX 5070 Ti in Nvidia’s mobile lineup.

The extra memory should help thin-and-light gaming laptops and creators avoid VRAM bottlenecks in newer games.
