Google adds Gemini-powered Dictation to Gboard, which could be bad news for dictation startups

Google has introduced Rambler, a Gemini-powered dictation feature in Gboard for Android.

It can remove filler words, handle mid-sentence corrections, and support multilingual code-switching.

The feature will first appear on select Samsung Galaxy and Pixel devices, then expand to more Android phones.

Because Gboard is preloaded on most Android devices, Google could put pressure on standalone dictation apps to differentiate on accuracy, privacy, or features.
