Samsung Galaxy phones add a Pixel-style dedicated Google Search bar on homescreen [Gallery]

Samsung is adding a new homescreen search bar area in One UI 9 on Galaxy devices.

The bar defaults to Google Search, but users can switch to Samsung Finder, show both, or turn it off entirely.

If disabled, the space becomes a page indicator instead.

The update makes Samsung’s launcher feel closer to Pixel phones while giving users more control over search and homescreen space.

The feature debuts on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series and should expand to more Galaxy devices with the Android 17-based rollout.
