The Lyrid Meteor Shower Is About to Peak, With Better Views Than Usual

The annual Lyrid meteor shower is nearing its peak, and NASA says a dim crescent moon should improve viewing conditions.

Observers in the Northern Hemisphere may see about 10 to 20 meteors per hour from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

As one of the oldest known meteor showers, the Lyrids could be easier to spot than usual this year thanks to clearer skies.
