Apple was surprised by AI-driven demand for Macs

Apple reported $8.4 billion in Mac revenue for the March quarter, topping expectations and rising 6% year over year.

Tim Cook said AI-related workloads are helping drive demand for new Macs, especially the MacBook Neo.

Apple also said Mac mini and Mac Studio supply was constrained amid strong interest.

The results suggest AI use cases are becoming a meaningful growth driver for Apple’s Mac business.
