Here’s what Microsoft is offering long-serving employees to voluntarily retire

Microsoft has posted its first-ever voluntary retirement program for eligible U.S. employees.

Workers must be 55 or older, with age plus years of service totaling at least 70, to qualify.

The package includes five years of healthcare coverage, cash severance, and extra time for stock vesting.

About 8,750 employees, or roughly 7% of Microsoft’s U.S. workforce, may be eligible and have 30 days to decide.
