This free font can trick AI scrapers into swallowing gibberish instead of your content

Brazilian studio Seneda & Abrucio and Copenhagen foundry Playtype have released ShieldFont, a free web font designed to confuse AI scrapers.

It uses OpenType glyph substitution to show humans the original text while feeding scrapers grammatically correct decoy words.

ShieldFont is open source on GitHub and can be used as a React component, but it currently supports English only.

The font could give publishers and writers another layer of protection against content harvesting for AI training, though it is not foolproof against screenshots or OCR.
