Hygon’s C86-4G server CPUs, led by the Hygon 3490, posted a Cinebench score of 17,224 and are approaching 5GHz.

The result puts them in the performance range of Intel’s current Core i5 generation, signaling a stronger domestic chip option in China.

At the same time, Intel server CPU supply is tightly reserved for major cloud customers, with longer wait times and higher prices.

That combination is making Chinese-made processors more attractive for data center operators looking for alternatives.
