Fire TV Stick HD quietly arrived with an adapter, but it’s not quite ready for Prime time

Amazon’s refreshed Fire TV Stick HD arrives April 29 with USB-C and a $20 Ethernet adapter.

But reports suggest the stick still uses USB 2.0, which would bottleneck wired speeds well below Gigabit.

That means the new adapter looks faster than the device can really support, limiting its networking benefit.

The update appears focused on basic streaming convenience rather than high-speed local network use.
