I Chatted With Google's Lifesize, Hyperreal AI Companion

At Google I/O, Google showed a photorealistic AI video agent running on Beam, its large-screen telepresence device.

The agent held natural conversation, answered questions, and generated content in real time, though Google said it is still experimental.

Google said Beam will roll out more broadly later this year, signaling a possible move beyond person-to-person calls.

The demo points to future uses in customer service, offices, kiosks, hotels, and other front-desk roles.
