Instructure Hackers Claim They Stole Data From Nearly 9,000 Schools

ShinyHunters claims it breached Instructure and stole roughly 280 million records from teachers, students, and staff across 8,809 schools.

The group posted defaced login pages and set a deadline to negotiate, threatening to leak the data if no deal is reached.

Instructure confirmed a breach affecting names, email addresses, student IDs, and user messages, and said it patched the first incident and briefly shut down Canvas.

The incident could expose sensitive school records at major institutions and disrupt access to the widely used learning platform.
