Chinese internet firms sign AI agent data protection pact

China Internet Association launched a self-regulatory pact on personal information protection for AI agents.

Baidu, Tencent, Alibaba, and Volcengine were among the early signatories to the AI agent pact.

A separate pact was also issued for mini-program ecosystems, with Tencent, Ant Group, and Baidu involved.

The moves point to industry efforts to set common privacy rules for fast-growing internet services in China.
