PFN to Develop AI for SDF Operational Planning

Preferred Networks (PFN) has been selected by Japan’s Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Agency to develop and verify an AI system that supports Self-Defense Force operational planning.

The system will use generative AI to integrate and analyze documents, geospatial data, and troop operations information.

PFN will conduct the demonstration under the agency’s New-Generation Equipment Research Institute.

If successful, the project could improve situational awareness and planning efficiency, with potential applications in disaster response as well.
