US PC sales grow 3% in late 2025 as Windows 10 replacements boost demand; 2026 forecast sees 13% drop amid rising memory and storage costs

U.S. PC shipments rose 3% year-on-year in Q4 2025 to 18.2 million units, driving a 3% gain for 2025.

Omdia said holiday buying and replacements of Windows 10 machines helped Q4 growth while commercial shipments rose 6% to 8.2 million units.

Omdia forecasts a 13% decline in PC shipments for 2026 as memory and storage costs are expected to rise about 60%, and CPU lead times have extended up to six months.
