iPhone’s next big update will finally secure Android RCS chats

Apple is preparing to bring end-to-end encryption to RCS chats between iPhone and Android users in iOS 26.5.

The feature was tested in beta and will roll out first through select supported carriers before expanding more broadly.

This would close a major privacy gap in cross-platform texting and bring Messages closer to modern secure messaging standards.
