Next-gen MRDIMM standard nears completion targeting 12,800 MT/s DDR5 transfer rates for AI and data center workloads

JEDEC says its next-generation Gen2 MRDIMM standard is nearly finalized.

The update also includes new DDR5 data buffer and clock driver specs for better signal integrity and scalability.

These DDR5-based modules target speeds up to 12,800 MT/s, boosting server memory bandwidth.

The changes are aimed at AI and cloud data center workloads as the industry continues advancing toward DDR6.
