The UK's antitrust regulator is looking into Microsoft's possible monopoly power

The UK's Competition and Markets Authority will investigate Microsoft to assess strategic market status starting in May.

The CMA said it has a major concern that Microsoft may limit competition via products including Word, Excel, Teams, Copilot and Windows.

The CMA follows up a 2025 cloud inquiry and said Microsoft and Amazon agreed measures on egress fees and interoperability to help UK customers.
