OpenAI launched GPT-Rosalind, a reasoning model built for life sciences workflows like literature review, hypothesis generation, experiment design, and data analysis.

The model is available only in research preview for qualified U.S. enterprise users through a Trusted Access program, with wider pricing and access coming later.

OpenAI also released a free life sciences research plugin for Codex that connects to 50+ scientific databases and tools.

In benchmarks, GPT-Rosalind outperformed GPT-5-family and other competing models on tasks in chemistry, biochemistry, phylogenetics, experiment design, and bioinformatics.
