Paid subscription "PlayStation Plus," essential for online gaming on PlayStation, raises prices

Sony will raise PlayStation Plus prices for new subscribers in select regions starting May 20, 2026.

The increase affects monthly and three-month plans, while existing subscribers are mostly protected unless they change plans or let them lapse.

No price change has been announced for Japan so far.

Because PlayStation Plus is required for online multiplayer, the hike could make playing online on PlayStation more expensive.
