Sony’s new Xperia phone gets an overdue redesign

Sony unveiled the Xperia 1 VIII with a major redesign, led by a new square camera island and refreshed flagship styling.

The phone upgrades camera hardware, especially the telephoto system, and adds an AI shooting assistant to help with photography.

It also brings updated audio and performance features, while keeping fan-favorite extras like microSD and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The redesign marks Sony’s first major flagship visual change in years and could make the Xperia line more competitive in premium phones.
