European Commission investigates data breach in Amazon cloud (update)

The European Commission is investigating a data breach in an Amazon cloud customer environment.

Sources say over 350 GB of data, including multiple databases, was stolen and ShinyHunters claimed responsibility.

At least one cloud management account was compromised and the Commission’s cybersecurity team quickly launched an investigation.

Techzine reported that AWS infrastructure itself was not breached and the exact number of affected accounts remains undisclosed.
