Creative launches Sound Blaster AE-X for PC audio enthusiasts

Creative launched the Sound Blaster AE-X, a $179 internal PCIe x1 sound card aimed at PC audio enthusiasts.

It uses an ESS Sabre ES9039Q2M DAC and supports high-resolution playback, including 24-bit/192 kHz, ASIO 2.3, and DSD256.

The card includes multiple analog and digital outputs plus headphone amp features, positioning it as a premium alternative to external DACs.

Creative is selling the AE-X through its own store, expanding its high-end PC audio lineup beyond the Audigy-era products.
