Google has added a new 'Verified Email' feature to make app sign-ups instant

Google added Verified Email to Android Credential Manager so supported apps can instantly confirm a user’s Gmail ownership.

The feature can replace manual OTP-based email checks during sign-up and may also prompt for a passkey for extra security.

It works on Android 9+ with updated Google Play Services, but only for consumer Google accounts, not Workspace or managed accounts.

Google says the same verification can be used for account recovery and sensitive changes, cutting sign-up friction while improving security.
