Japan Post may suspend delivery and collection when the ‘heatstroke special warning alert’ is issued

Japan Post announced new heatstroke countermeasures for outdoor work.

In areas under a special heatstroke warning, delivery and pickup by bicycle or on foot will basically be suspended.

When a heat alert is issued, or temperatures exceed 40°C, operations will be shifted to different time slots.

The changes are meant to reduce outdoor labor risk during extreme heat, but may cause delivery delays or service interruptions.
