When Is The Next Full Moon? North America To See A 96% ‘Blood Moon’

The next full Sturgeon Moon on Aug. 27-28, 2026 will coincide with a deep partial lunar eclipse.

About 96.2% of the Moon will pass into Earth’s umbra, but the eclipse will not reach totality.

The event will be visible across North America, South America, Europe, and Africa, with the best views in the Americas.

It is expected to be one of 2026’s most notable skywatching events and the best lunar eclipse until late 2028.
