US Navy’s 10,000-ton and 20,000-ton submarine programs to get advanced battery monitoring systems

L3Harris won a contract to provide advanced battery monitoring systems for U.S. Navy Virginia-class and Columbia-class submarines.

The systems will deliver real-time battery health data, enabling predictive maintenance and better operational reliability.

The upgrade is aimed at improving safety, uptime, and mission readiness across two of the Navy’s most critical submarine programs.

It also supports maintenance cost control while strengthening undersea warfare effectiveness.
