Why doesn't Xbox Game Pass include every Call of Duty game?

Microsoft says new Call of Duty releases will not come to Xbox Game Pass until about a year after launch.

That undercuts one of the biggest hopes tied to Microsoft’s Activision Blizzard acquisition: day-one access through the subscription service.

Many older Call of Duty games are still missing from Game Pass as well, despite the deal closing.

As a result, the service still lacks much of one of gaming’s most important franchises.
