AI integration standard 'MCP' overhauled entirely... making adoption easier for large companies

Anthropic has unveiled its 2025 roadmap for MCP, the protocol that connects AI with external tools and enterprise systems, and is overhauling it.

The key change is a simpler, more stateless design that reduces session dependence and makes multi-server operation easier at cloud scale.

The new structure is meant to support more stable links to internal documents, databases, business software, and external services.

Security is also being strengthened with improvements to authentication validation and permission management.

The shift could turn MCP from an experimental connector into core infrastructure for enterprise AI adoption.
