Charger + Battery That Lights Up During Power Outages — docomo "Prepared Charger"

NTT Docomo announced a disaster-focused charger made with phosphorescent material that lights up during blackouts.

A Makuake pre-sale starts April 16 at 10:00; the campaign runs through June 15 at 22:00. Details are on the Makuake project page.

From around June it will also be offered via the docomo online shop.

The unit combines an AC adapter and a mobile battery: when plugged in it automatically charges its internal battery, and it can be used as a portable battery in daily use.

It meets docomo’s strict safety standards (short-circuit measures, temperature-rise limits, anomaly detection), measures 50×80×32 mm, weighs about 160 g, and 1% of sales will be donated to disaster volunteer groups.
