Anthropic Accidentally Exposes Source Code for Claude Code

Anthropic accidentally published version 2.1.88 of Claude Code to the public npm registry including a source map file.

The source map exposure revealed over 500,000 lines of code across nearly 2,000 files and an archive link posted to X gained over 27 million views.

Anthropic said the leak was caused by human error, that no sensitive customer data was exposed, and reported parts of Claude Code were reverse-engineered.
