Google Messages launches group RCS Mentions and Trash folder

Google Messages announced the launch of Mentions, google announced the launch of Mentions in Google Messages after beta testing.

Mentions allows @ mentions of multiple people and real-time editing of saved recipient names, users can mention participants in RCS group chats using @ and edit saved recipient names in the text field.

Mention notifications send notifications to mentioned users regardless of chat mute state, mentioned users receive a notification even if the chat is muted.

Trash folder replaces immediate Delete with Move to Trash and provides an Undo option, google announced a Trash folder that changes immediate delete into Move to Trash with an Undo option.

Trash retention retains trashed conversations for 30 days (7 days on Android Go), conversations in Trash are retained for 30 days; on Android Go phones the retention is 7 days.
