Naver Cloud launches dedicated defense AX organization, betting on sovereign AI

Naver Cloud has launched a dedicated defense AI transformation task force on June 1, led by CEO Kim Yu-won.

The team will deploy front-line engineers to design and implement customized solutions directly at military sites.

Naver Cloud plans to apply its own foundation models, cloud infrastructure, and omni-modal AI to defense use cases.

The move could serve as a proving ground for sovereign AI, reducing reliance on foreign AI in a highly sensitive sector.
