US capability for one-way attack missions gets boost with new autonomous aircraft

AEVEX Corp. won an $18.5 million U.S. Air Force contract to supply autonomous Group 3 unmanned aircraft systems.

The package includes additive-manufactured platforms built for one-way attack missions and other operational uses.

The deal expands the Air Force’s access to lower-cost strike options and faster-to-produce unmanned systems.
