Gemini will use Volvo’s external cameras to interpret parking signs

Google and Volvo announced that the upcoming EX60 SUV will use Gemini with exterior cameras to explain road signs, parking rules, landmarks, and nearby context.

The system is supported by Qualcomm Snapdragon hardware and new camera-aware Google Maps directions, including Immersive Navigation features.

The goal is to make driving and parking easier by turning the vehicle assistant into a visual guide.

But the feature also raises accuracy concerns, since a mistaken sign reading could lead to fines or towing.
