Surprise Halo Infinite Update Adds Brand-New Game Mode

Halo Studios unexpectedly patched Halo Infinite on May 5, 2026 with a new Firefight: Gauntlet PvE mode.

The four-player mode spans five arenas and adds a loadout/attribute upgrade hub plus an AI Aggro system.

Players can try it now in the limited-time playlist The Gauntlet on two Forge-made maps, Munera Platform H6 and W4.

The mode will later rotate into regular Firefight matchmaking, signaling continued support for the 2021 game.
