SAP makes a double play in data and AI with acquisitions of Prior Labs and Dremio

SAP plans to acquire AI research lab Prior Labs and data lakehouse platform Dremio, pending regulatory approval.

The company will invest more than 1 billion euros over four years in Prior Labs and fold both deals into its Business Data Cloud strategy.

SAP aims to improve enterprise AI for structured business data by combining tabular foundation models with a more open, unified data layer.

The move is meant to reduce data fragmentation and make AI outputs more accurate and useful for business users.
