Microsoft releases image generation AI "MAI-Image-2.5-Pro," integrating in-house AI into Office products and others to reduce dependence on other companies

Microsoft unveiled MAI-Image-2.5-Pro, a quality-focused model for text-to-image generation and image editing.

It also opened a public preview of MAI-Voice-2-Flash, expanding its in-house AI lineup.

Microsoft said its own models are already being integrated into products such as Bing Image Creator and PowerPoint.

The move signals a broader shift away from OpenAI models as Microsoft seeks tighter control over core AI capabilities.
