Tesla’s top rival launches self-driving with full crash coverage at a fraction of the cost

BYD has launched its God’s Eye driver-assistance package in China, bundling crash coverage with the software.

The package covers repairs, third-party damage, and injuries from accidents that happen while using City Navigation, without raising users’ insurance premiums the next year.

Existing owners can get access via an over-the-air update to God’s Eye 5.0, while the upgrade is priced at 12,000 yuan for God’s Eye B.

That is far below Tesla’s 64,000 yuan China-market assisted-driving offering, intensifying pressure in the EV software race.
