Resident Evil Requiem director Koshi Nakanishi said Leon S. Kennedy’s visible wedding ring is a symbolic detail, meant to show age and character growth.

He clarified the ring was not intended to imply a wife or set up a major story twist, despite fan theories about Ada Wong or Claire Redfield.

Capcom also said Ada Wong was left out because she wasn’t needed for this game’s story, keeping the focus on the main plot and Leon’s evolution.
