Google is upgrading in-car Assistant to Gemini, and it’s more than just a refresh

Google is replacing Google Assistant with Gemini in cars that use Google built-in, starting with an English-language rollout in the U.S.

Current owners will get the upgrade through an over-the-air update, with no hardware changes required.

Gemini adds more natural back-and-forth conversations, follow-up questions, smarter messaging, and better media control.

It can also help with vehicle-manual troubleshooting and EV charging, making in-car tasks easier and potentially safer.
