Your Android phone could soon get a better way to sniff out spoofed calls

Google is reportedly working to build a system-level Verified Caller feature into Android.

Via Google Play Services, it could check incoming numbers against Do-Not-Originate lists to spot spoofed calls.

The protection would not require the Google Phone app, making it broader and more built-in across Android devices.

If shipped, it could help users block scam callers impersonating banks or government agencies.
