Apple Says iOS 27 Can Automatically Add Captions to Your Personal iPhone Videos

Apple previewed a new accessibility feature that will automatically generate captions for spoken audio in videos on-device.

The captions will work on personal iPhone videos, received videos, and streamed content, starting with U.S. and Canadian English.

The feature is set to arrive later this year across iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, tvOS 27, and visionOS 27.

By keeping speech recognition on-device, Apple aims to improve video accessibility while protecting user privacy.
