Airo unveils hybrid-electric rotary wing unmanned aircraft

Airo unveiled the full-scale JX250/JC250 at AUVSI XPONENTIAL 2026 in McLean, Virginia.

The hybrid-electric rotary-wing VTOL is designed for long endurance, heavy payloads, and autonomous flight.

Airo says the aircraft is moving through detailed design, with deployment targeted for 2027.

The platform is aimed at military and civil uses such as ISR, BVLOS operations, cargo delivery, and contested logistics in austere environments.
